PRODUCTION EFFICIENCY

OEE Calculator

Separate the losses. See where to start improving. Calculate OEE, MTBF and MTTR from real shift data.

Shift data

Planned production time excludes breaks and time when production was not scheduled. Stops during scheduled production remain in this denominator.

Leave minor stops and startup rejects at 0 if their split is unknown. Losses remain aggregated; they are not divided using assumed percentages.

MTTR

MTBF = run time / failures. MTTR = repair time / failures. With no failures, both metrics are undefined.

How is OEE calculated?

OEE = Availability × Performance × Quality. The same result is good count × ideal cycle time / planned production time. All time units must match.

Why can’t performance exceed 100%?

This usually indicates an incorrectly defined ideal cycle time, count or time interval. This tool asks you to correct the inputs instead of silently capping performance at 100%.

Why are stops entered separately?

Not all downtime is repair time. Use actual repair time for MTTR. Minor stops are within run time and must fit alongside the ideal production time. OEE.com →
